About your teacher, Cormac 'Buzz' Ó Briain:

"Fáilte chuig Na Gaeil A-Buzz. My name is Cormac ‘Buzz’ Ó Briain. I have been involved in the Irish language for over 30 years, as a learner, activist and teacher. I initially started when I could only communicate a few animal words that I learned at school to my son. This made me feel that it was a travesty that I could not raise my son in our beautiful native language. I have since set off on what has been a fantastic journey and I have tried to bring this to my teaching experience.

I have made the mistakes, hopefully so you do not have to. I have done this as a parent of three children all raised with Irish. I try and teach Irish that is useful to use every day. I know how it feels learning a language as an adult and many of the obstacles that presents. I teach how I understand the language basically as someone who wants to live and do normal things through Irish.

I am an uilleann piper, Seanchaí, Reggae and Ska DJ and radio presenter, Wren Boy, saxophonist and main vocalist with Boss Sound Manifesto ska and reggae band.

I have been teaching Irish for over 20 years and offer a supportive atmosphere in which to learn and develop confidence whilst having a bit of craic while doing it. Questions are no problem and after class support is offered."
